Replacing an Oil Boiler with an Electric Heating system

The site was a large 5 bedroom bungalow built in the 1970s. Our client Derek S, was looking for alternatives to their current Oil-Fired ‘wet’ central heating as the Boiler came to the end of its life. It was an opportunity to look at more ‘green’, efficient and future-proof options. The result was a completely new Smart Electric system providing complete control, improved efficiency, and an attractive alternative to the ugly Oil Boiler and steel radiators. The system, combined with Solar Hot Water and Panels, cut the heating bills by 35% while maintaining a comfortable home.

Smart Electric Heating system for Holiday Let


The customer lives in London and owns a holiday home in Cornwall, so being able to control every room remotely was an essential requirement. The site was fitted out with iSense and Balneum radiators throughout. The MySense App enabled the client to remotely control, restrict and monitor properties' heating controls from anywhere. “I love the Cloud-based control system. Now the heating can’t be left on for a week when guests leave & I can turn everything on before new guests arrive. This will reduce wasted energy and save me money paying someone to visit the property to check if the heating was left on.”

Conversion to Electric system for Norfolk Home


Yet another EcoDesign Lot 20* heating installation in a typical 19080s large 4 bedroom build previously heated by an assortment of storage heaters, panel heaters and some fan heaters for "when it got cold in the evenings”. The old heaters were stripped out and 12 CaliSense radiators fitted. The full installation was completed in one day. The original heating load was 26kW of inefficient heating. The new CaliSense system has a total heating load of just 14kW. (*EcoDesign Lot 20 legislation 2018 mandates that all electric heaters/radiators comply with Energy Efficiency Directive (EED 2015/1188)).

Can you run Electric Radiators from Solar Panels?


Karen and Mike R. in Cambridgeshire wanted to save energy as well as the planet. They did just that with the help of C.R.C Electrical & Renewables, a family run business panels with 1000s of Pv Solar installations behind them. The client chose an all new electric heating system from ASH combined with a roof-top SolarPV installation. The system featured our top of the range iSense Wi-Fi controlled electric radiators and the MySense app to programme and monitor every room and every radiator. The new system has reduced energy bills during the winter months and provides almost zero-cost operation during the summer.

Total control for Office Heating


Our client aimed for both a unique controllable and highly efficient electric heating system, but also areal attractive alternative to the inefficient, ugly, panel heaters that were currently in place. The project reduced the office heating bills by 30% while maintaining a comfortable, productive working environment. Inefficient heating in offices has been linked with reduced productivity. Colder weather often leaves employers and employees alike on the hunt for an easy but effective heating solution. The removal of Panel Heaters across 15 offices, and their replacement with our system took just 2 days.

Large installation for Suffolk Hotel


The Wentworth Hotel, Aldeburgh, Suffolk, is a country house hotel overlooking the sea. One problem has always been how to heat the bedrooms in an energy efficient way whilst ensuring that guests are warm and comfortable. To achieve this they asked us to provide an all-electric heating solution. Over 30 rooms have been equipped with iSense radiators, providing the bedrooms with efficient and economical heating, and a warm welcome for guests. The Hotel manages rooms and radiators using the Cloud based 'MySense' Heating Management System, and has achieved a significant reduction in running costs.
