We can work it out

This handy calculator provides a rough guide to how many British Thermal Units (BTU) are required to heat a typical room. Once you have your BTU reading you can compare it with the radiator recommendations chart at the bottom of the page.

  • Add the square footage* of your room
  • Select Zone 3 (if you are in the UK)
  • Hit the Calculate button

Compare the result with the list below to get a rough guide to which radiator is right for your room. If in doubt you can always contact us for free advice. Please note that the radiator recommendation applies only to our products. Other radiators are less efficient so you may need to buy larger radiators, or more radiators.

*If you only have metres just multiply by 3.2 (eg. a room is 4m x3m = 12m, or 12.8ft x 9.6ft = 129ft ish).

1000 - 1200w (eg. Small Bedroom)
1500 - 1800w (eg. Kitchen, Large Bedroom)
